Research

My work is often based on the history and economics of the community, incorporating architectural elements and images of tools, furniture, and other utilitarian objects. I work in wood and mixed media, and most of my work is human-scale or larger. I am motivated in the search for the "American Dream", both as an ideal and as the real experience of my family who immigrated to the United States seeking a better life. My work blends a rigorous attention to craft with an interest in these social and cultural concerns.
