Visiting Speaker Irit Rogoff

Irit Rogoff has founded the Department of Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths College where she is professor. Her interests are primarily in conjunctions of critical theory with contemporary arts practice and currently concerned with geography, location and globalisation and with issues of singularity and participation. She is director of an AHRB funded international research project "Cross Cultural Contemporary Arts".Amongst Rogoff's writings are"Museum Culture - Histories / Theories / Spectacles", 1994 and "Terra Infirma - Geography's Visual Culture" 2001. She is currently working on a study of the participatory entitled "Looking Away – Participating Singularities".
