Research

Preeti Chopra recently completed her doctoral dissertation in the field of architectural history from the University of California, Berkeley. Her dissertation entitled "The City and its Fragments: Colonial Bombay 1854-1918, examines the role of the local population in the making of colonial Bombay. Chopra has published articles on French colonial urbanism in Pondicherry, India and the practices of naming city divisions in colonial Bombay. Chopra is also trained as an architect, landscape architect, and city and regional planner, and has previously worked on a number of architectural projects in India.
